FruitGood — Privacy Policy

FruitGood ("the app", "we") lets you photograph a fruit and get a ripeness verdict. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. FruitGood is operated by an individual developer based in Israel.

What we collect and why

• A random device identifier. The app generates a random ID stored on your device and sends it with each scan so we can enforce the free weekly scan limit. It is not your name, email, or account, and it is not linked to your identity.
• Usage counts. We store, on our server, how many scans that random ID has used in the current week (and any ad-bonus scans) — solely to apply the free limit.
• Photos you submit for a scan. When you scan, your photo is sent to our server and to our AI provider purely to generate the ripeness verdict. Photos are processed transiently and are not stored or retained by us after the verdict is returned.
• Feedback. If you tap the "wrong?" button, we store the verdict and the fact that you disagreed, to help us improve accuracy. We do not store your image with that feedback.

Data that never leaves your device

Your purchase log — the fruit, date, shop, and price you record — is stored only on your device (in the browser's local database). It is never transmitted to us and we cannot see it. Clearing the app's data removes it.

What we do not do

• No user accounts or logins.
• No advertising in this version, and no advertising or analytics tracking SDKs.
• We do not sell or share your data for advertising.
• We do not store your photos.

Service providers

We use an AI provider (Anthropic) to analyse the photo and produce the ripeness verdict, and a hosting provider (Hetzner) to run the service. These providers process data on our behalf to deliver the app's function; they are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Retention

The random device ID, weekly usage counts, and feedback are retained on our server keyed to that random ID. Submitted photos are not retained. You can request deletion of your server-side records by emailing us with your device ID.

Security

All data sent between the app and our server is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

Children

FruitGood is intended for adults and is not directed to children.

We may update this policy; the date above reflects the latest version.
